Bucket List

Though not always written, I’ve always kept a bit of a list of the cool things I want to do. Passively, I’ve checked some things off over the years but at times I’ve been so focused on work and projects that that list took a back seat. A while back I came across the “Life List” on my buddy Trevor Mauch’s blog.  This inspiration lead me to create this page: a written list of the things for which I’d like to make time, a bucket list of sorts.

I’ll add to this list from time to time as I’m inspired and reviewing it will always be a reminder for me to collect experiences, not things.

  1. Learn to read and speak another language… probably Hebrew. (Currently working on Italian for fun but not taking it very seriously.)
  2. Live on a boat for a year
  3. Run a marathon
  4. Build houses in a third world country, likely with an organized charity
  5. Ride the MS150, a 150 mile bike race in Texas
  6. Compete (competitively) in a trap shooting competition
  7. Be behind the wheel of a car going 200 MPH
  8. Live on a pretty remote island for a month
  9. Take vocal lessons and learn to sing
  10. Write a book on my experiences in real estate and business
  11. Travel the country in an RV, i.e. spend 1 year + exploring and working from the road
  12. Consistently read 12 books a year until I die (audio books count)
  13. Wake up at sunrise and turn off electronics (work related) at sundown for a whole year
  14. Walk/run part of the great wall of China
  15. Donate $1,000,000 to charity before I retire or turn 50, whichever comes first
  16. Have a conversation with Howard Stern
  17. Speak publicly (and confidently) in front of at least 1,000 people. (I spoke in front of thousands in college once, but I was so nervous that I remember very little from the experience.)
  18. Create a product that sells 100,000 units.
  19. Learn to fly a plane
  20. … (will continue to add to this list)
